About Me

Hello Friends and dear Readers!

I come from a relatively conservative church background, and have grown up in the church all of my life. I first started taking my faith seriously some time during 2007, making it my own instead of just clinging to the ‘faith of the fathers’ blindly and lamely.

I am a man of many passions, and am currently pursuing a major/minor in Psychology and Sociology – although I dare say I am hankering for an unofficial double major in Theology as well, as the bulk of my free reading is done there. All three consume me roughly equally, and I delight in continually seeing how the three of them combine into a comprehensive understanding of reality with our Lord.

I don’t ascribe to any particular denomination under the ‘umbrella’ of Christianity. Put quite simply, I believe we are called to be one Church of which Jesus is the head, and I believe only what can be shown to me through the bible and prayer. It really doesn’t matter much who is doing the showing beyond that – we are all judged before the same Lord Jesus.

The views I express however are my own and I will therefore take responsibility for them as such. They are from my own studies unless noted otherwise. The vast majority of the time however, I trust that they will fall in line with what gets taught in my congregation – I feel blessed to be a part of a community that is dedicated to solid doctrine at all costs, as this is a value that drives my core being.

Always keep in mind that I am just a human, and am still learning on this journey. I will make mistakes; I pray for the grace to learn from them as well.

I firmly believe that mistakes are part of the process of maturing, and that we should take every opportunity to understand and learn from them to not repeat them. God is still working on each one of us however, and we will not be perfected until the day we die – otherwise we wouldn’t need Him. If we didn’t make mistakes, we wouldn’t need His help in perfecting us and preparing us for life eternal.

I encourage you, if you have any questions or concerns about anything I say or anything that you would like my opinion on – feel free to ask me! I would however prefer private contact, so as not to have people’s public reputations get in the way of a good discussion.

It is my hope and prayer that the content I bring to you will be a blessing and an encouragement in your life, whatever your circumstances may be.
